Up To Date With Revival In February 2018
As one door closes.....
Another Opens....
This month has been a bit of a rollercoaster. We closed our costume shop in the centre of Huddersfield after 15 years of trading. We made the decision to concentrate on the vintage side of the business. which is where it all began in the first place from a modest stall in our indoor market selling vintage clothing all those years ago. Thank fully vintage clothing is one of the few lines the online mega stores & supermarkets can't sell. Plus after all these years of selling vintage it is also where our expertise & passion lies.
As we closed the doors to Revival Fancy Dress we signed the lease for our new premises in Lockwood Huddersfield. We are transferring all our vintage stock there plus it has some great office space above it with room for a decent photography studio.
We will be open to the public but don't see this happening until the middle of April. We have lots of sorting out to do, shelf fitting etc plus a planned holiday and buying trip in March.
We are looking forward to this new phase of our business with my husband and I back working together .... some would say risky, brave, foolish, I know, but our skills have always complimented each other well.
Men's Vintage New In Feb
This month we have bought some fabulous unique men's original vintage pieces. More great forties look suits, wool, blazers, breeks plus more super ties and cravats, all one of a kind. We are always on the lookout for vintage tank tops, as I'm sure you are. Bought several this month but already down to the last few. Just as well we have these authentic look ones, pictured top right, on there way in time for all your Spring Summer events. As with our last set of retro ones they are limited edition so once they've gone we will be developing a different one.
Women's Vintage New In Feb
OK ladies so you are going to have take my word for this but I have ordered some amazing new vintage inspired dresses. As always when I go to buying events I am only interested in clothing that is close to the real deal. I don't have pictures of them all but they are stunning. They should start to arrive over the next couple of months. I am impatient and always want them straight away until that is I get the bills! Here are three from an Australian wholesale company.
Patent Retro Frame Bags
I love original vintage bags but sometimes you need a splash of colour, a practical shape and all within a short timescale. These are handy when you don't have weeks spare to hunt down a perfect colour match but need the finishing touch to a wedding outfit or the races for example. There are more colours available, these are what I have for now.
Vintage Style Fur Stoles
Not everyone is a fan of real fur. that's where these come in. They are plush and comfortable with a fur hook and eye plus an optional slit where one side can be pulled through. They keep your shoulders warm, can instantly update a tired winter coat and are 100% animal and conscience friendly!
Next month...
I will be writing my next catch up with you all from Southern California. For the last three years we have taken our annual holiday in March, a quiet time for our business. We combine the trip with a spot of buying and of course we are in constant touch with the business back home so don't worry if you want to get in touch we will still answer all our emails.
Amelia our uni assistant and daughter Florence are stepping in to deal with our web orders so it should still be business as usual as far as the website is concerned. We are lucky to have their help otherwise we wouldn't be able to go.
Take care until next time.
