Hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and of course, we wish you a happy and fulfilling 2019. Mark and I are excited to get cracking with what will be the sixteenth year of our great vintage clothing business.
We are looking forward to a bumper year packed full of fabulous vintage separates with lots of opportunities to wear it. We kick off with two superb new styles to add to our Spearpoint collar shirt collection. A white with black stripe and an eye-catching rich marl green. They are both 100% cotton with plenty of great authentic features.
Revival New 1940s Style Spearpoint Collar Shirts
Revival New 1940s Style Fishtail Trousers
Also for the fellas, we are developing a new small range of fishtail trousers. We have used an original pair of forties pants which we have dissected and refined to produce what we hope will be the optimum style of 1940s trousers. They should arrive just in time for the main events season.
We would never neglect the true vintage side of Revival, it's where we started sixteen years ago and helps keep our business unique. Our aim is to offer a mix that compliments each other as best we can. Nothing gives us more pleasure than finding good quality one of a kind pieces that we know you will love. Over the last month for men, the site has had an influx of original trousers, knitwear, jackets and neckwear.
Revival Vintage For Women
Just before Christmas, I was lucky enough to buy a collection of vintage hats from a retired Milliner. I am continuing to work through some unusual ladies headwear from the 1940s through 1980s. Have a look at this small selection and see if you can guess which decade they are from.
Apart from our core range of retro dresses, we have not bought as much in the way of women's reproduction items because at the moment we have so many fantastic originals. I still have more true vintage womenswear and accessories to process - top to bottom and everything in between. Keep an eye on the website as I add new things almost every day.
Here is a taster of some of the super things I have added over the last four weeks.
Despite dealing with 'old things' daily, in life, I am a person who prefers to look forward rather than reflecting on the past. I'm sure I am not alone experiencing a year or two I have been relieved to see the back of as New Year dawned. Thankfully for me, 2018 was not one of those. Last year Mark and I moved to the great premises we are now based in at Railway Sawmills Huddersfield.
Another highlight was our first trip to Goodwood Revival and helping more of you find the perfect outfit to join us there. A particular triumph was being part of the Goodwood fashion show. A proud accomplishment when we needed it most.
More recently we had dresses featured on Strictly Come Dancing. We will never forget seeing our very own vintage frocks swirling around the stage during a WW2 tribute.
We worked with some great people including suppliers, students, couriers and of course you - our customers. Thanks for your part in keeping our business alive and progressive.
2019 here we come....
We look forward to sharing another positive year with you all.
Our first event of the year is the Festival of Vintage in York 27th and 28th of April. I am already planning my layout & which stock to take. It's a busy, well-executed event. If you haven't been before it's definitely worth the trip over to Yorkshire.
Have a splendid first month of the year.
