Step into the timeless elegance of mens fashion in the 1940s, 1930s and 1950s with Revival Vintage's new Socialite range of suiting. The collection features a range of impeccably designed suits, jackets, trousers, and waistcoats, perfect for adding a touch of vintage flair to your wardrobe.
The Deliverance Suit: A 1940s Icon
Our Deliverance suit is a double-breasted masterpiece, inspired by a late 1930s Montague Burton suit from our archive. Also very similar to the “Demob suits” given out to the troops on their return home from fighting in WW2. This iconic 1940s look boasts wide lapels with a two-button fastening, six buttons showing design. It features lapel buttonholes on each side, welted pockets with flaps, and a coordinating satin lining. True to the 1940s style, the back has no vents.
The high waisted trousers feature a fish-tail back with a back pocket, double pleats at the front, a button-up fly, metal waistband clasps, and buttons for braces. They are finished at the bottom of the legs with turn-ups or cuffs. Our trousers come with a generous long length, allowing for easy tailoring by a local professional or keen amateur to achieve your perfect fit.
The Deliverance suit is available in wool fabrics.
The Clubman Jacket: Versatile Mid-Century Style
The Clubman jacket has a fantastic mid-century look, a style that would have been seen from the 1930s to 1950s. The piece shown is crafted from a beautiful woollen check in shades of green and navy blue, featuring patch pockets with flaps, box pleats for a slight country look, and "football" buttons. It has a wide lapel with a notch and a three-button fastening. The satin lining adds a touch of luxury, and no back vents. This versatile jacket can be purchased as part of a suit or on its own, easily paired with coordinating trousers such as navy blue in this case.
As mentioned the jacket can be worn with contrast or co-ordinating plain trousers. However, they are available as a matching pair to form a suit. We use the exact same design and cut as with the Deliverance suit. High waisted, fishtail back, buttons for braces etc and with the turn-ups.
The Gadabout 1930s Suit: Summer Sophistication
For the warmer months, our Gadabout suit is a true Revival favourite. Inspired by a 1930s boating jacket, it is made from a comfortable cotton and linen blend, ensuring you stay cool. It features a wide lapel with a notch, three-button fastening, lovely patch pockets, and working cuffs on the sleeves. Also it’s half-lined for enhanced breathability and, like our other styles, has no vents at the back. The Gadabout jacket is a wardrobe staple that can be worn as a suit or with contrasting trousers, and it pairs beautifully with an open-neck shirt with or without a cravat or even a shirt and tie.
The trousers offer a slightly slimmer fit to that of the Deliverance and Clubman while maintaining an iconic mid-century aesthetic. They also have fishtail backs, side fasteners, vertical pockets, a small ticket pocket at the front, a metal fly, and cuffs at the bottom.
Waistcoats: The Perfect Complement
Our suit collection always include waistcoat versions although not always in every colourway, each designed to perfectly complement our suits and/or trousers.
All of our vintage style waistcoats share the same design, featuring four pockets with welted flaps. The back has a satin finish with a belt fastener to adjust the waist. Crucially they are designed with a shorter length to pair perfectly with our high-waisted trousers for a truly authentic look.
