How To Style Spring Florals
Spring is well and truly upon us, even if it unfortunately doesn’t seem like it with this weather!
Florals for spring may be a classic fashion tradition but there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to styling those pesky floral prints. From bright and bold tea dresses to ditzy print blouses to adding much-loved floral accessories, we’re here to prove that everyone can rock their favourite floral prints in a classic and chic style!
It’s not the easiest trend to get right but with our quick and simple style guide, we’ll show you how to rock those floral prints this spring!
The Boho Blouse
For the more casual days out and about running errands, these floral prints will truly gleam in the spring sunshine with little to no effort involved! Styled with your favourite pair of jeans, our 1960s placement print blouse can give you a crisp and clean look. The orange floral print doesn’t push you into anything too ‘messy’, which is something that can be recognised a lot with floral prints. The dainty lines of flowers offer the cutest touch to a relatively plain outfit, without making it look too busy. My absolute favourite though is our 1970s CANDA top. The oversized white buttons and the large 70s collar is the most PERFECT vintage piece for spring, adding a splash of colour to your wardrobe. Psst, style it with our Crombie 1940s style trousers for that unique vintage clash to make you feel fabulous!
Let’s not forget that florals don’t have to be a patterned print! If you’re not into the floral print trend, our embroidered daisy shell top might be just the right blouse for you. A gorgeous pink colour with a 60s style small collar is the cutest and most flattering piece to finish off your spring outfits. Style it with white tapered trousers and touches of eccentric jewellery for ultimate vintage chic!
The Ditzy Dress
We cannot give you a style guide to spring florals without the classic floral print and dress combo! Whether it’s date night or a trip into town, we have chosen some of our best floral print dresses for you to give you that needed fix of vintage inspiration.
For the more casual plans, we have our 1970s enamel button dress, a gorgeous green dress with a blossom print on a unique architecture backdrop. The button through bodice will flatter your figure, with the matching belt nipping your waist in at just the right place. Style with tan sandals and handbag for your staple go-to spring outfit.
Now, these are my favourite dresses ever so I had to include them in this! Look at our gorgeous tea dresses. I can’t bang on about these enough! We have a range of these style dresses available, but I’ve chose to include our black bouquet tea dress and our scarlet blooms tea dress. I think the prints here are the most gorgeous to add into your spring wardrobe. Not to mention that these offer the most flattering figure, complete with a gathered bust line and bias cut panels which will skim all the right curves of your body – and who doesn’t love a sweetheart neckline for spring?

The Spring Skirt
A skirt can be a particularly tricky piece to style, especially with florals added into the mix! If you’re wanting a vintage skirt with a floral print, these can normally be quite heavily patterned to the key thing to remember is style it very plain on top! You can pick out a colour that is included within the print to match your blouse with or you can clash colours with a blouse of your choice, but the ultimate style tip is to keep it plain (a bit of embroidery is allowed, of course!).
We’ve styled our floral stem skirt with our double bodice shell top. The pleated feature of the shell top with the added pearl buttons offers just that touch of detail without clashing with the gorgeous skirt underneath!
The Smart for Spring
Let’s dabble into the smarter side of spring, because it can be a pesky one to get right. With a smarter outfit, it can be a bit of a task to jazz it up – which is where the floral print comes in handy! Our range of stoles can bring that splash of colour to any smart outfit to keep it fresh and on trend! Our 1940s style check suit can be styled with a bright red patent handbag to complement our floral plaid vintage scarf! Style it in a vintage up-do or tie it to the straps of your bag for a twist!
Happy styling!
