1940s Vintage Gadabout Linen Patch Pocket Suit
The 'Gadabout' is our very own cream linen single-breasted suit, with classic forties tropical style. A popular choice for vintage nostalgia events and festivals amongst our customers.
The jacket has three patch pockets, while the trousers have an authentic high waist fit and fishtail back detail.
As always with our Socialite range, we have replicated an original vintage item - in this case, a 1940s tropical jacket and pair of trousers.

Jacket: Trousers: - Three-button fastening.
- Neat collar with rounded notch lapels. Buttonhole decor.
- No back vents.
- Working cuffs with four buttons.
- Half Lined with three internal pockets.
- Vertical side seam pockets.
- Button fly with French bearer.
- Turn up hem cuffs.
- Back pocket with button-down flap.
- Buttons for attaching trouser braces or suspenders.
- Double pleat fronts.
- Fishtail notchback feature.
Fabric content is all-natural: 80% linen and 20% cotton.

SIZING NOTE: The Gadabout trousers are high-waisted, so their cut may mean a tighter fit. For better accuracy when selecting your size, measure your waist’s circumference just below the navel. Should you fall between sizes, we recommend ordering the next size up. Measurements on our size chart are accurate to approximately a quarter inch.
Our first model, Simon (newsboy cap), is 6ft 1 and wears a 40" jacket and a pair of 32" trousers. Tom (straw boater) is 5ft 9 and wears a 38" jacket and a pair of 30" trousers.
