1940s Vintage Clubman Herringbone Wool Fishtail Trousers
Wool herringbone trousers in a neutral beige with a high waist fit and fishtail back detail.
As always with our Socialite range, we have replicated an original pair of 1940s leisure pants. These trousers use the same pattern as our extremely popular Gadabout trousers, but are made in a thicker wool blend fabric. Key authentic features include:
- Vertical side seam pockets.
- Button fly with French bearer.
- Turn up the hem cuffs.
- Back pocket with button-down flap.
- Buttons for attaching trouser braces or suspenders.
- Double pleat fronts.
- Fishtail notchback feature.
Fabric content is 50% wool and 50% polyester, which makes for a soft, medium-weight fabric with a durable forties look.
Pair this period-accurate jacket with our matching Clubman notch lapel jacket to create an iconic vintage suit style with wartime forties flair.

SIZING NOTE: The Clubman trousers are high-waisted and so the cut of them may mean a tighter fit. If you are between sizes, we recommend ordering the next size up, or for better accuracy measure yourself just below the belly button. Measurements on our size chart are accurate to approximately a quarter inch.
Our first model, Simon (carrying a case), is 6ft 1 and wears a 40" jacket and a pair of 32" trousers.
