Showroom Access Statement
The aim of this access statement is to describe the facilities and services that we offer guests and visitors to our showroom.
1-3 Swan Lane has always been a retail store with two levels. Built in 1878 it was originally a community grocery and drapers, more recently electrical and lighting retailers
At the back of the premises is our customer entrance straight off the customer carpark. There are no steps into the building. It is wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair or pushchair.
The building has two main floors. We have most of the same stock available to browse on both levels. For any persons unable to climb our stairs there is a designated area on the ground floor with seating where we will greet you to discuss your requirements. As with all our customers we will help you look around plus offer advice and support where needed.
We have a book with outfit ideas and a supplementary digital tablet which can be used on both levels to access our website. This can be useful if you have spotted something on there you would like us to locate for you.
There will be a changing room on both levels plus seating throughout for customer use.
In the unlikely event of a fire, alarms will sound and you will be guided to the nearest exit.
Fire exits are clearly marked.
Please note the majority of our business is online so we do have to take that into consideration with the layout of our premises. We open our showroom to customers to create an inclusive offering for those unaccustomed to online shopping or prefer to try things on or receive a more personal service.
If you have any concerns or questions, or you have other accessibility needs that we can support during your visit, please phone us in advance on 01484422255. so that we can plan how we can best assist you.
There are currently no public toilets. This is something we aim to provide as part of our ongoing renovations.
