1940s Vintage Gadabout Linen Fishtail Trousers

Tropical style cream linen trousers with a high waist fit and fishtail back detail. (2024 Version*)

As always with our Socialite range we have replicated an original vintage item in this case 1940s leisure pants.

Key authentic features include:

• Vertical side seam pockets.
• Button fly with French bearer.
• Turn up hem cuffs.
• Back pocket with button-down flap.
• Buttons for attaching trouser braces or suspenders.
• Double pleat fronts.
• Fishtail notch back feature.

Fabric content is all natural 80% linen and 20% cotton.

There is a matching jacket to create the perfect forties look suit, comfortable enough for summer expeditions or a full day at work.

*Please note: our 2024 run of the Gadabout items (including the new matching waistcoat) is very slightly different in shade to our previous 2023 run - worth bearing in mind if you already own a piece or pieces from the Gadabout line. The colour is still a beautiful cream linen and the difference is difficult to spot.

SIZING NOTE: The Gadabout trousers are high-waisted, so their cut may mean a tighter fit. For better accuracy when selecting your size, measure your waist’s circumference just below the navel. Should you fall between sizes, we recommend ordering the next size up. Measurements on our size chart are accurate to approximately a quarter inch.

Our first model, Cameron is 6ft 1 and wears a pair of 32" trousers. Tom (long sleeve shirt) is 5ft 9 and wears a pair of 30" trousers.
