Vintage 1950s Magenta Pattern Shirt Dress
This genuine fifties true vintage piece features a unique magenta patterning in natural, irregular frond shapes, realised on beautiful silky Tricel fabric.
In a shirt-style cut with a functional buttoned placket down the front of the dress and an open, wide lapel collar.
Tailoring details include cuffed sleeves, a high waist and a large inverted pleat at the centre back plus in the front of the skirt to add movement.
In excellent condition aside from the two photographed pinholes in the skirt, which are easily lost in the busy pattern when worn.
The dress also has a belt loop only on the wearer's right-hand side, but there is no evidence that one has been lost from the left side.
A very unique and sophisticated 50s find for any vintage enthusiast! Best fit size 14 to 16.
