1940s Vintage Taupe Silk Occasion Dress
This original forties evening or occasionwear piece is a sublime taupe shade, somewhere between grey, beige and rose in tone. Realised in beautiful watermark silk that is patterned with a delicate floral, this dress is sure to wow at vintage revival festivals or formal events.
The dress creates a sweetheart shape at the bust with the gathered cut of its bodice and the ruched shoulder panels, while the skirt is particularly voluminous swing style that would look stunning with or without a petticoat.
The sleeves make a small cape effect on the back of the dress to very glamorous effect.
The dress has a half-belt to fasten at the back with press studs, and a metal zip at the side.
Radcliffe & Chapman label.
Overall it's in great condition but there is some watermark staining under the arms and a very small repair at the hemline.
